Vancouver Police Arrest Man For Carjacking Pregnant Woman, Multi-Vehicle Collision

Darpan News Desk, 19 Aug, 2019 04:39 PM

Vancouver Police arrested a 22-year-old man Sunday night after he allegedly forced a pregnant woman from her car and caused a multi-vehicle collision after fleeing in the stolen vehicle.

VPD officers were called to the area of Alma Street and West 4th Avenue around 8:30 p.m. last night, after a man got into a Honda Pilot that was parked and idling. The suspect allegedly forced the lone occupant from the car, then drove away.

About 45 minutes later, police responded to a collision near Granville Street and West 70th Avenue, after the same Honda Pilot crashed into three vehicles.

The driver fled before police arrived, but officers located the suspect a short distance away and arrested him.

Police are now recommending charges in relation to the carjacking and the collision. No significant injuries were reported.
