Vancouver Police Looking For Witnesses To Attempted Abduction

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 10 Jun, 2016 12:19 PM
The Vancouver Police Department has been investigating an attempted abduction that occurred in April and are asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on April 22nd, 2016, a silver 4-door car pulled up to a 45-year-old woman waiting at a bus stop near 51st Avenue and Kerr Street. A man got out of the passenger’s seat of the vehicle, grabbed her, and tried to pull her towards the car. The woman screamed and was able to get away. She was not injured.

There have been two other suspicious incidents involving this same victim and suspect over a period of five days. Investigators believe this possible attempt to abduct or attack this woman was targeted and potentially linked to a personal dispute rather than any criminal activity.

The suspect has been described as Vietnamese, approximately 50-years-old, with a medium build and large eyes. He was wearing a black hat and black hoodie.

It is believed there may have been a witness standing at the nearby bus stop at the time of this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Crime Section of the Vancouver Police at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
