Surrey RCMP is advising the public that 168 Street is closed between 32 Avenue and 40 Avenue following involving a single vehicle in a ditch with a deceased person located inside.

On Wednesday, at 1:12 p.m., Surrey RCMP were on the scene of a vehicle partially submerged in a ditch in the 3700-block of 168Street. Police and Surrey Fire Service were also there and located the vehicle with a dead driver inside.

The investigation is in the early stages and what caused the collision is not known. Road closures on 168 Street in both directions between 32 Avenue and 40 Avenue will be in effect for an undetermined amount of time.

Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
