The Canadian Press, 19 Sep, 2018 12:18 PM
PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. — A dash cam video showing a frightening near-miss on Newfoundland's west coast is getting a lot of views online.

In the video, a pickup truck can be seen attempting to pass a vehicle on a solid yellow line, narrowly avoiding an oncoming tractor-trailer.

Despite wet conditions, the pickup truck appears to accelerate before zipping back into the right-hand lane as a car moves to the shoulder to make room.

The video is dated from last week, and its GPS co-ordinates indicate the near-miss came on the Trans-Canada Highway north of Port aux Basques.

The video has been viewed more than 80,000 times, gathering over 100 comments.
