Surrey RCMP were on scene in the District 2 area of Guildford in Surrey for a report of shots being fired.
At approximately midnight on Sunday, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 16200 block of 80th Avenue.
A male suffering from injuries was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is still in its early stages, but initial indications are that this is a targeted/isolated incident and involves parties known to each other.
The warning comes as statistics from the B.C. government show 1,251 wildfires have charred more than 4,500 square kilometres of bush since the start of the fire season on April 1.
