Winnepeg Jets T-Shirt Made By Company Licensed To Sell NHL Stock Shocker For Fan

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 23 Jun, 2016 01:07 PM
KELOWNA, B.C. — A life-long Winnipeg Jets fan was shocked to learn she'd bought a T-shirt with the city's name misspelled as Winnepeg.

Thirty-three-year-old Heather Prevalnig says she paid $30 for the T-shirt at a Winnipeg airport store on her way home to Kelowna, B.C., and sent a picture of the apparel to her brother.

He immediately pointed out the spelling mistake days after teasing her about her loyalties to the Jets versus the Vancouver Canucks.

Prevalnig couldn't believe the error, especially because the T-shirt bore the NHL's official logo.

She says she grew up playing minor hockey in Winnipeg, went to all the Jets games and even sold 50/50 tickets at the team's old stadium.

The shirt was manufactured by a Wareham, Mass., company, and owner Allen Katzen says an employee feels awful about making the spelling mistake on 48 T-shirts that have been recalled.
