Woman, 28, Critical After Granville St. Nightclub Fight, Vancouver Police Arrest 2 Women

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 11 Aug, 2016 12:47 PM
Vancouver Police have arrested two women, and are continuing to investigate an alleged assault that has left a 28-year-old woman in hospital.

Shortly before 2:00 a.m. this morning, the victim was reportedly assaulted out front of the Caprice Nightclub on Granville Street.

It is believed the assault occurred a few minutes after a brief altercation between the victim and two women inside the club. The two suspects in the serious physical attack fled from the area on foot, and the victim was taken to hospital with critical injuries.

About 30 minutes after the incident, police arrested two women, who are believed to be the pair involved in the assault, as they exited a cab near Hastings and Abbott Street.

The victim remains in hospital in grave condition.

Investigators continue to interview witnesses and review video obtained inside and outside the club. Anyone with information, or who observed the incident and not yet spoken with police, is asked to contact the VPD Major Crime Section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
