  • Woman and 5 year old child badly hurt in crash: New Westminster Police

 The New Westminster Police Department is currently investigating a serious collision which occurred in the 1000 block of Quayside Drive. At approximately 11:00 pm on April 4th a vehicle collided with an unoccupied parked van at a high rate of speed. The male driver fled the scene but was located a short distance away and taken into custody.

An adult female and a five year old child who were passengers in the vehicle suffered injuries requiring hospitalization.

“Sadly, a child in this vehicle sustained serious injuries,” stated Media Relations Officer Sergeant Sanjay Kumar. “Investigators have spoken with some witnesses and are asking anyone else who may have witnessed this collision and haven’t spoken yet to investigators to come forward.”
