Woman Charged After Parked Ambulance Stolen From Edmonton's Royal Alexandra Hospital

    EDMONTON — A woman faces a number of charges after a parked ambulance was stolen from an Edmonton hospital.
     
    Police allege a patient at the Royal Alexandra Hospital took the emergency vehicle and drove it to a rural area.
     
    The ambulance was tracked by police using its on-board GPS and officers were able to stop it near Duffield, about 40 kilometres west of Edmonton.
     
    The driver was arrested without incident.
     
    Charges against a 21-year-old suspect include dangerous driving, theft over $5,000 and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
     
    The woman has been returned to the care of the hospital.
