Woman dies after being struck by young cyclist on Calgary path

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Aug, 2025 10:53 AM
  • Woman dies after being struck by young cyclist on Calgary path

A woman is dead after she was hit by a cyclist on a Calgary pathway.

Police say the woman and her husband were walking on the path Saturday, when a 12-year-old on a bike approached from behind and crashed into her.

She was knocked to the ground, sustained serious injuries and went to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police weren't notified of the crash at the time and didn't attend the scene.

Policy say the woman, who was in her 50s, has since died from her injuries and officers are investigating.

They say impairment and speed are not considered to be factors in the crash.
