  • Woman on a mobility scooter suffered injuries in a collision with a dump truck

VicPD officers are asking for witnesses and information after a woman on a mobility scooter suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a collision with a dump truck last week.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd, VicPD officers were called to the intersection of Bay and Bridge streets for a report of a collision involving a woman on a mobility scooter and a dump truck. The woman was pinned under the dump truck, and bystanders and the driver of the dump truck assisted her with emergency first aid.

With the assistance of bystanders the woman was removed from under the dump truck and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics attended and transported her to hospital. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

VicPD officers are continuing to gather information regarding this incident and are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact police.
