Woman Who Planned To Sneak Drugs Into Kamloops Prison Given Probation

  • Woman Who Planned To Sneak Drugs Into Kamloops Prison Given Probation

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — A woman who plotted to smuggle drugs into a Kamloops, B.C., prison must serve 18 month's probation.

B.C. Supreme Court has heard Erin O'Morrow and her inmate boyfriend devised a scheme to sneak crystal meth, heroin and marijuana into Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre.

The 28-year-old's plan involved hiding the drugs in a public bathroom at Royal Inland Hospital, and then her prisoner boyfriend would fake an injury so he could be taken to the facility and retrieve the stash.

But court heard prison officials found out about the plot and intercepted the pair's phone calls until O'Morrow was busted at the hospital in November 2013.

O'Morrow pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and was sentenced on Wednesday.

Judge Hope Hyslop called O'Morrow's plan "diabolical," and is requiring she go to rehab and have no contact with her now-former boyfriend. (Kamloops This Week)
