The Vancouver International Airport says a 3.5-million-dollar investment by the federal and provincial governments will go towards improving the main terminal's building performance and to reduce its overall emissions.
The airport says improvements include switching from natural gas to electricity for domestic water heating and decarbonizing three domestic hot water loops through the installation of air-source heat pumps.

Bobby-James Lavallee, who is 33, of Prince George, B.C., is charged with attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault and breaches of conditions. Police are asking for the public’s help to locate the machete as it may still be near the scene.
The B-C Centre for Disease Control says there have been a record high 43 cases of cyclospora infections in the province this year. Police say officers responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. Friday about a burning vehicle. They say that once the fire was extinguished, the body of a man was found inside. Police say the death is considered suspicious.
Officers responded to Granville and Smithe just before 3:30 this morning for a report that a man had been stabbed. The 32-year-old victim was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but died from his injuries.
