BC weightlifter qualified for World Masters Weightlifting Championships in Spain

    Raghbir Singh Dhaliwal of Port Alberni, BC, competed at the 2018 BC Masters Championships and ranked number one.
     
     
    Dhaliwal also set a new Snatch, Clean and Jerk and Total BC Record. He lifted a total of 112 kg. He has qualified for the World Masters Weightlifting Championships in Spain in August.
     
     
    Dhaliwal is 65 years old and has been competing in the 69kg class for the last 40 years. He has won numerous BC Championships and placed 2nd at the North American Masters Games.
     
     
    He is looking forward to compete in Spain and hopes to bring Canada back a medal. He has given the local EMS club a place to train for the last 25 years and there have been several national champions and a few international level lifters out of the club.
