Team Canada has so far won 5 gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics and the competition wraps up on Sunday.

Damian Warner won gold in decathlon making him the first athlete from Canada to beget the title of  “world’s greatest athlete.” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Warner via a Twitter Post.

Team Canada also shared a vision that manifested for Warner over Twitter.

Lauriane Genest won the bronze medal in women's track cycling. A first medal ever for Canada in the event.

Sprinter Andre De Grasse, weightlifter Maude Charron, swimmer Maggie Mac Neil, crew of 8 women on the rowing side all make up for Canada's gold.

It truly is a record for Canada so far as the last time Team Canada performed this well was in Barcelona in the year 1992 when Team Canada bagged 7 gold medals.

The highest number of medals won by Canada til date were in 1984 when Canada claimed 44 gold medals.

Canada has a total of 18 medals so far and this medal tally has taken place after almost 3 decades.
