Canucks Reunite Burrows With Sedin Twins On Vancouver's Top Line At Practice

The Canadian Press, 05 Jan, 2015 03:38 PM
VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks reunited Alexandre Burrows with Henrik and Daniel Sedin on their top line at practice Monday.

Burrows replaced Radim Vrbata on the wing alongside the talented twins, a spot he has occupied many times over his career.

Vrbata, who was signed in free agency this summer and has played most of the season with the Sedins, was moved to the second line with Nick Bonino and Chris Higgins.

Canucks coach Willie Desjardins says he made the move in hopes of getting a more balanced attack from his top two lines.

Vancouver has had success on the power play in recent weeks — thanks in large part to Burrows being added to the top unit alongside the Sedins — but getting goals in 5-on-5 situations has been more difficult.

Bonino has scored just once in 23 games while Higgins has one goal over the last 14 contests.
