Cops 'Confident' They've Correctly Identified Suspect In Jays Beer Tossing Case

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 06 Oct, 2016 12:03 PM
Toronto police say they are confident they've identified the correct person as the fan who tossed a beer can at a Baltimore outfielder during Tuesday's dramatic Blue Jays playoff game.

Police released a photograph of a man on Wednesday evening they allege was the one who threw the tallboy can that narrowly missed Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim.

They did not name the man and have encouraged the individual to turn themselves in.

But late on Wednesday night, a man who said he was the person in the photo came forward and suggested the authorities may have got things wrong.

Ken Pagan, an employee of Postmedia and former Sun media, says he contacted police and identified himself as the person in their photo, but he told the Toronto Sun he was "drinking out of a cup" during the game.

Toronto police say they are working with officials from the Rogers Centre, where the game was held, to further the investigation.
