On the last day of the Olympics Kelsey Mitchell has bagged a gold medal in the women’s track cycling sprint event.

She adds her name with Lori-Ann Muenzer as Canada’s only Olympic gold medallists ever in track cycling.

This is a second medal for Canada in the track cycling medal of the Games apart from the keirin bronze won by Lauriane Genest.

Team Canada’s overall medal count at Tokyo 2020 is 24.
