Manny Malhotra Named Vancouver Canucks Development Coach

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 08 Sep, 2016 09:48 AM
VANCOUVER — Former Vancouver Canucks forward Manny Malhotra has returned to the organization to serve as a development coach.

"We're pleased to have Manny re-join the organization and work with our coaching staff to help develop and mentor the players," Canucks hockey operations president Trevor Linden said Wednesday in a release.

"Manny has a wealth of experience from nearly two decades of playing in the National Hockey League. His character, work ethic, skill and perseverance are qualities we value and know will benefit our team."

Malhotra signed with the Canucks in 2010 and spent parts of three seasons with the team.

He played for seven NHL teams over his career and recorded 295 points (116-179) and 451 penalty minutes in 991 games. Malhotra last played for the Montreal Canadiens in the 2014-'15 campaign.

Malhotra will work with players to develop specialized skills, the team said. He will work on a part-time basis at home practices and will travel on occasion to work with team prospects.
