  • NHL declares Vancouver out of the running for 'Hub City'

It is official the Vancouver Canucks announced Thursday that Vancouver is tossed out as a hub city for NHL's return. That leaves 2 lone Canadian cities Toronto and Edmonton in a tug a war to the host the NHL's Stanley Cup Tournament. The Canucks made the announcement via Twitter and thanked Dr.Bonnie Henry and BC Premier John Horgan.

The Premier also expressed his sadness via social media but wasn't going to be flexible with the rules during the pandemic even though he was hoping Vancouver being a hub city would be good for the province's economy.

Dr. Bonnie Henry seconded the Premier saying the health and safety during this crisis is the main priority. "What we provided was our advice and basically the fact that we would take the health of our players and the health of our province as the primary concern in terms of having the NHL play in Vancouver". Non Canadian cities in contention include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
