  • Opening dates announced for Surrey Soccer Fan Zones
The City of Surrey is excited to announce the opening dates for its three Surrey Soccer Fan Zones, where residents and visitors from across the Lower Mainland are invited to watch free, live match broadcasts of FIFA World Cup 2026™.

“Surrey is a soccer city, and fans across the community are gearing up to cheer on their favourite teams. We’re thrilled to host these free fan zones where families and friends can come together,” Mayor Brenda Locke said. “It’s a fantastic way for people to experience the excitement of the world’s biggest sporting event and see why Surrey is such a fun place to live, play and explore.”

Surrey Civic Plaza will host its first live broadcast on June 11, with the official opening celebration happening on June 12 for Canada’s first game against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Attendees can watch the game on the big screen and enjoy a full day of special entertainment and activities.

Additional Fan Zones will launch a few weeks later. The Cloverdale Agriplex will open on July 1 as part of the City’s Canada Day festivities, and Softball City at South Surrey Athletic Park on July 14. Additional fan zone locations may be announced closer to the event.

The fan zones will be in two formats. Match Only days will offer live match screenings with interactive soccer activities. Full Fan Zone Experience days will include all the features of Match Only, plus festival-style fun, including live entertainment, community exhibitors, food trucks and a beer garden.
In total, the City of Surrey will host more than 100 live match broadcasts over six weeks.

Daily schedules, including specific match screenings, entertainment lineups and on-site activities, will be announced closer to the event. Programming and experiences may vary by location and date.
