  • Surrey to host Canada Soccer’s 2026 U-15 National Championships
Surrey has been selected as the host for Canada Soccer’s 2026 National Championships U-15 Cup at Newton Athletic Park. This prestigious six-day competition will showcase the best in amateur youth soccer from across the country.

“As a City that champions sport and its benefits for young people, I am very excited to welcome the U-15 Cup to Surrey next fall,” said Mayor Brenda Locke. “Newton Athletic Park is a premier sports venue, boasting new fields, changing rooms, and spectator seating. Events like this strengthen Surrey’s reputation as a hub for sport tourism.”

Canada Soccer’s National Championships take place each October across multiple divisions and host cities. More than 300 boys’ and girls’ teams are expected to compete in qualifiers for the U-15 championship.

“Surrey Football Club is an inclusive leader in our community, promoting lifelong passion for soccer across all ages,” said Sarb Lidder, executive director of Surrey Football Club, the host soccer club at Newton Athletic Park. “Having the U-15 Cup here will not only garner more interest in the sport, but it will also showcase our club’s excellence in training and developing young athletes. In turn, this will help fuel grassroots growth and mentorship.”

Canada Soccer’s National Championships have been the country’s primary amateur soccer competition for over 100 years. Spanning six divisions across three age categories, the competition brings together qualified teams from coast to coast. At every level, the National Championships offer a week of elite soccer and memorable experiences for host cities and all participants, including players, coaches, officials and volunteers.
