Crazy about Selfies? Know the best time to post Selfie on Instagram

Darpan News Desk IANS, 27 Feb, 2015 12:04 PM
Keen to post your selfie on Instagram? The time of posting is the key to get the maximum likes and comments for your cool picture, a new study has found.

Latergramme's analysis concluded that the best time to post a picture is 2 a.m. (EST) (3:30 p.m. IST) and 5 p.m. (EST) (4.00 a.m. IST) and the worst time to share an image is at 9 a.m. EST (7:30 p.m. IST) and 6 p.m. EST. (4:30 a.m. IST).

Latergramme is an app that is used when you post something on Instagram at a later time.

According to a recent analysis by Latergramme, an app that allows users to schedule their Instagram posts, timing can play a significant role in your Instagram activity.

As for days of the week, Wednesday has a slight edge of the rest of the days but the difference is marginal.

"We think this is because less people are posting at that time and that more engaged users are using Instagram at that time," Latergramme founder Matt Smith was quoted as telling Huffington Post.

The best hour to post a picture varies from day to day.

For instance, on Mondays the best time are 7 p.m. (5:30 a.m. Tuesday IST) and 10 p.m. (8:30 a.m. Tuesday) while on Friday the best timing is 1 a.m. (11:30 a.m. IST) and 8 p.m. EST (6:30 a.m. Saturday IST).

Picture quality also plays a big role in engagement.
