Finger-swipe car display for safe driving

Darpan News Desk IANS, 06 Aug, 2014 08:07 AM
What if you do not need to move your eyes as you drive yet get all the information about where you are headed or even take a call just by gestures?

Welcome to Navdy - a high-resolution heads-up display (HUD) that sits on your car's dashboard between steering wheel and the windshield.

It has a display that projects an image that appears to float in front of the windshield.

The projected display connects to your iPhone or Android phone via your favourite apps like Google Maps to help you navigate without looking down at a phone or over at a center console, media reports said.

What to take a call? Just swipe a finger in the air above the steering wheel to take or disconnect a call.

You will be notified of who is calling on the display alongside your directions.

The screen can display speed, fuel economy statistics, tire-pressure warning or any notifications from the car.

If a driver gets a call or message while navigating, Navdy uses a split screen, with map on half the screen and phone display on the other.

Navdy is available at the discounted price of $299 (Rs.18,295).
