Now Enjoy 'Playboy' On Your Smartphone Sans Nudity!

Darpan News Desk IANS, 23 May, 2015 11:50 AM
Are you a "Playboy" lover? Get ready to download it on your smartphone. The Chicago-based lifestyle and entertainment magazine has just launched its "Playboy Now" app.

But those looking for more than articles will be up for disappointment as the app only has a mix of articles and content geared towards men's lifestyle and news, Mirror.co.uk reported.

"The app has a mix of original content, as well as specially curated content from Playboy.com, creating additional touch-points for our loyal users who are interested in immersing themselves in Playboy and generating compelling, integrated opportunities for advertisers to harness," Playboy's Cory Jones was quoted as saying in media reports.

Playboy.com attracts 19 million unique visitors monthly and nearly one-third visit the web site daily.

The magazine now wants to establish itself as a lifestyle destination rather than relying on pornography.

"We have a very engaged audience on mobile and about three-fourths comes after 4 pm. So we are building this optimised experience for these guys who are coming back every day and there are millions of them," Phillip Morelock, Playboy senior vice president and chief product officer, was quoted as saying.

The app is available for both iOS (Apple) and Android (Google) devices.
