This lift to zip you to 95th floor in 43 seconds!

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Apr, 2014 11:25 AM
Forget the world's tallest skyscraper Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This elevator in China will take you to the 95th floor in flat 43 seconds!

Japanese multinational Hitachi is building two elevators in a 111-floor new skyscraper in Guangzhou, southern China that can zip from the first floor to the 95th in 43 seconds.

“This speed - essentially 72 km per hour - would make them the fastest elevators in the world," according to a BBC report.

According to Hitachi, the company would use technologies that prevent lateral vibration and reduce the ear-block feeling owing to the air pressure changes.

Currently, the speed record is held by Taipei 101 (formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Centre) which has an elevator that can move at nearly 60 km per hour.

Currently under construction, the CTF building will have apartments, hotel space and offices, media reports said.

The building is scheduled for completion in 2016.
