Sanjay Dutt's biopic 'Sanju' has left the B-town celebrities in awe due to the sheer brilliance showed by the actors and the director.
 
 
The celebrities took to their social media handles to praise the movie.
 
 
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh appreciated Raju Hirani's brilliance in weaving such a complex tale of 'Sanju.
 
 
Adarsh tweeted, "Making a biopic isn't child's play, but Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi encompass pertinent episodes from Dutt's life to weave a spellbinding screenplay... #Sanju is an emotional journey... Goes beyond providing mere entertainment and emerges triumphant."
 
 
Filmmaker and Producer, Karan Johar poured his heart out in his Twitter handle, describing `Sanju` as the number one mainstream film "of our times".
 
 
 
He tweeted, "Encompassing such a tumultuous and rollercoaster life in this duration...and still holding onto the emotional energy and nonstop humour is a mammoth achievement!! Please hail the NUMBER 1 Mainstream film of our times!!! RAJKUMAR HIRANI #sanju"
 
 
Appreciating Raju Hirani's direction and Ranbir Kapoor's realistic acting in the biopic, legendary filmmaker and producer, Subhash Ghai urged the people to go and watch the movie.
 
 
He wrote, "Go and watch #Sanju to experience real Sanjay Dutt on screen superbly performed by my favourite actor #Ranbir kapoor bringing real character alive: A heart touching film brilliantly narrated n directed by raju Congratulations @rajuhirani @abhijatj904 @ChopraVidur 4 superhit ??"
 
 
 
 
Interestingly, Anushka Sharma--who essays an important role in the movie-- tweeted that it was a 'fun' playing the role of a biographer.
 
 
She tweeted, "Playing @RajkumarHirani sir's spirit character in #Sanju was so fun! This movie is his labour of love... go watch it guys ?? #RanbirKapoor @sonamakapoor @mkoirala @deespeak @vickykaushal09 @SirPareshRawal"
 
 
Actor Boman Irani, who has worked with Sanjay Dutt in the 'Munnabhai' series, appreciated Hirani's direction.
 
 
Irani wrote, "Every 3 years this quiet unassuming man gifts us with his 'giant of a baby'. In 15 years this is his 5th. Glad you take your time Raju. Its well worth the wait! Its #Sanju day!!!!!"

SHABANA AZMI GOES GAGA OVER RANBIR'S 'SANJU' ACT
 
 
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi is impressed with actor Ranbir Kapoor after watching his performance in "Sanju".
 
 
"Rishi Kapoor, what a tour de force performance by Ranbir Kapoor in 'Sanju'. He takes your breath away in creating the amazing likeness to Sanjay Dutt without ever slipping up on the authenticity of the emotion. Bravo," Shabana tweeted on Friday. 
 
 
"He is ably supported by Vicky Kaushal by endearing portrayal," she added. 
 
 
To which, Rishi responded: "Thank you my dear. You have always encouraged all of us every time but this time it feels better when you talk about Ranbir. I haven't seen the film as yet -- will, as soon as I am back." 
 
 
Shabana went on to mention "you will be extremely proud of him.. and Neetu toh ... khushi sey ro dengi (She will cry with happiness)." 
 
 
 
 
Sanjay, who had made a rocking debut in Bollywood with "Rocky" in 1981, put his personal life in jeopardy through drug addiction, and his life took a turn for the worse when he was arrested for illegal possession of weapons and was convicted.
 
 
Rajkumar Hirani has brought the story of his life on the silver screen with "Sanju", in which Ranbir is seen as Sanjay Dutt. The film opened in India on Friday. 
 
 
It also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Karishma Tanna, Dia Mirza and Jim Sarbh.
 
 
Dia, who is seen as Sanjay's wife Manyata Dutt , also posted: "Our film is now yours! It has been such a wonderful experience working with such amazing co-stars and my favourite director." 
 
 
Director Omung Kumar also loved the film. 
 
 
"Movies have failed earlier but Ranbir Kapoor never failed... but this time the movie 'Sanju' has lived up to everyone's expectations and Ranbir Kapoor has excelled as an actor and portrayed Sanjay Dutt's life with sincerity. Real rockstar. Take a bow," he tweeted.
