  • Daughters Are Father's Weakness: Big B
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's forthcoming film "Piku" explores the sometimes sweet, sometimes bitter relationship of a father and daughter. Emphasising the 'Save the Girl Child' message, the cine icon says daughters are a father's weakness.

"'PIKU'... a slice of life... a journey... a Father and a Daughter... daughters are father's weakness... and may they ever remain so... Savour the moments of the girl in the family.

"Save the girl child... educate her... for when you educate a girl, you educate an entire family... Be proud of our culture and ethics... be proud of our tradition," a post on his Facebook page read on Friday.

The 72-year-old plays the father of the character essayed by actress Deepika Padukone in Shoojit Sircar's directorial, which also stars Irrfan Khan.

The real life father of Shweta Nanda was all praise for daughters on his official blog as well. Big B pointed out to the confluence of his real life with his on-screen character in an interesting manner.

"I am with daughter by my side these days. Shweta at home, PIKU in the profession, and the feel of their presence, sound and worth. I am blessed and honoured in both. My real and my reel meet up. It rarely happens, but it has in this," he posted on srbachchan.tumblr.com.

With a tag line 'Motion Se Hi Emotion', the film promises to take the audience on an emotional road trip. Written by Juhi Chaturvedi, "Piku" is slated to release on May 8.
