If There’s No Problem, Then It's A Problem: Diana Penty

  • If There’s No Problem, Then It's A Problem: Diana Penty
Diana Penty, who has returned to the silver screen with ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’, four years after her Bollywood debut ‘Cocktail,’ feels that if there is no problem, then it is a problem.

“I am coming to my own. I am more confident. I am not self conscious anymore. I am not shy and reserved as I used to be. I have learnt that I am who I am. If you have problem then it’s your problem,” said the actress to Filmfare, when asked “how have you changed over the years.”

When Diana was further quizzed about her whereabouts post ‘Cocktail,’ she replied that she was busy with her endorsements, shows and modeling, as acting was something that just happened for her.

“I didn’t disappear, I was very much here. I was doing my endorsements, shows, modelling. I think that time I didn’t pressure myself on acting. Because first of all acting was something that just happened. It wasn’t planned. After Cocktail I was just thinking in a way that okay if something else comes up that I really want to do, I will do it. And if doesn’t it’s okay. It’s not the end of the world. I’ll wait, I’ll do something else in the mean time,” she said.

‘Happy Bhag Jayegi,’ released this Friday, opened in the Box Office with a collection of Rs. 2.32 crores.

The movie that also stars Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal and Momal Sheikh, portrays Diana aka Happy as a Punjabi girl.
When asked how difficult it was to play a typical Punjabi girl in the flick, she said, “It was not easy. I had to work hard on it and gave more importance to prep up for the role.

Because I knew that I would need it to make me more confident about playing a role, especially something so different. So I spent a lot of time doing that. I researched on the character. I spent a few days in Amritsar, met local girls, observed their mannerism, the way they spoke. Then somebody was helping me with the language and the diction. So I did my homework very serious.”
