Jagga Jassos Is For Children, Says Anurag Basu

  • Jagga Jassos Is For Children, Says Anurag Basu
Filmmaker Anurag Basu, who is coming up with his next directorial "Jagga Jasoos", says the film is ideal for children.

"When screening of 'Barfi' was going on, everybody was happy. And when the trial was going on, I thought everybody would like the movie. But my younger daughter didn't understand the movie and she was not very impressed. I was upset. So I thought of making a film for children and now Jagga is for children," he said at the press meet of kids dance reality show "Dance Ka Kal-Super Dancer".

He is one of the judges in the show along with Shilpa Shetty and Geeta Kapoor.

About judging the show, Basu said: "I am more of a viewer than a judge. I give my opinion as a viewer. For technical portions, I take help from Geeta (Kapoor). Otherwise, I go with my feeling. Dance is an emotion. If dancer feels the dance I also feel it as a viewer."

Known for his direction in movies like "Life in a... Metro", "Kites", "Gangster" and "Murder". His last directorial Barfi, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D Cruz, opened to largely positive reviews and was well received in many film festivals.

"Jagga Jasoos" is a comedy-drama film which features Ranbir, Katrina Kaif and Adah Sharma in lead roles. The film tells the story of a teenage detective in search of his missing father. The film is scheduled for release on April 7, 2017.
