Bollywood actor John Abraham has joined the cast of 'Batla House', based on a terrorist encounter. John will essay the role of a cop in the real-life inspired film.

 

The news was confirmed by Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst and an Indian film critic, on his Twitter handle.

 

He wrote, "John Abraham and director Nikkhil Advani team up again... Nikkhil will direct John in #BatlaHouse... Starts Sept 2018... Written by Ritesh Shah... Will be filmed in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Nepal... Nikkhil last directed John in #SalaamEIshq".

 
 

The film will bring the real-life incident of 'Batla House Encounter', officially known as Operation Batla House, to the silver screen. The incident took place on September, 19, 2008, against Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. 'Batla House' will be shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Nepal.

 

The film will be helmed by Nikkhil Advani of 'Airlift' fame and written by Ritesh Shah of 'Pink' fame. Nikkhil had previously directed John in 'Salaam-E-Ishq'.

 

The film is scheduled to start the production in September 2018.
