  • Never had John Abraham in mind for 'Jazbaa': Director
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has quashed rumours that Irrfan Khan replaced John Abraham in his forthcoming film “Jazbaa”, saying that John was never cast for the role.

“We never cast John Abraham for 'Jazbaa'. Those were rumours,” Gupta said while interacting with twitterati during a live chat session for a media house.

According to reports, John was supposed to play the male lead in the film, but things took a different turn when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was finalised for the female lead. Gupta asserted that these were “rumours”.

"Jazbaa", a remake of a Korean film, also features Shabana Azmi and is scheduled to release on October 9.

Gupta also noted that he wants to bring a “violent love story” alive on the silver screen.

“If I find an exciting script, would love to do a violent love story. Best family drama to me is Mahabharat,” he said.
