After enthralling the audience with his blockbuster 'Padmaavat', Bollywood's powerhouse actor Ranveer Singh is all set to star in Kabir Khan's '83'.

 

The sports drama, which is slated to release on April 10, 2020, will see Singh playing the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The official page of Reliance Entertainment announced the same on Twitter.

 

"A story that celebrates the triumph of India over the masters of world cricket is set to release on April 10, 2020."

 
 

The film will present the story of skipper Kapil Dev and the Indian national cricket team when they left the whole country energised after winning the 1983 World Cup in England.

 

This was the first time ever that any team apart from the West Indies won the world cup and it was the first time ever that an Indian team won any prominent tournament.

 

Earlier, the flick was slated to hit the big screens on April 5, 2019.

 

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is produced by Phantom Films, Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Vibri Media, Reliance Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films.
