Sana Saeed On Break From Bollywood For Acting Lessons In US

  • Sana Saeed On Break From Bollywood For Acting Lessons In US
Her entry in Bollywood was as a child actor in Karan Johar's "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and later, she was seen in a glamorous role in "Student Of The Year". Now Sana Saeed plans to take a break from films to attend an acting workshop in Los Angeles.

It is something that she had planned to do even before featuring in a supporting role in the 2012 movie, which marked the launch of actors Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in Bollywood.

"I'm actually trying to take a break and go to Los Angeles. I am applying to a film academy in Los Angeles to do an acting workshop there," Sana told IANS here when asked about her future Bollywood projects.

"That's the thing that I had in my mind before I did 'Student Of The Year'. When I did that film , I applied for the course. I also got selected and had tickets in my hand but five days before leaving for the New York Film Academy (the Los Angeles campus), I thought that if there is a chance of doing acting here already, so why not?

"This was in my mind for four years. Now, here's the chance and I can't wait for it," added the actress, who played daughter to Shah Rukh Khan in "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" in 1998.

It's not just films that Sana did in the past as she was one of the few contestants in dance reality shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" and "Nach Baliye 7".

And now she is geared to do another show on the small screen. This time, it's not a dance reality show, but lifestyle and travel channel FOX Life's "Life Mein Ek Baar", which has taken her on an adventure ride.

After three successful seasons, the new season of the series has been shot in Hong Kong. It brings together celebrities including Karan Kundra, Natalie Di Luccio and Himarsha Venkatsamy, apart from Sana, discovering the adventurous side of life in Asia’s World City.

Asked that if given a chance, what would she choose between TV and films, she said: “I'd select Bollywood over TV.”

But she feels that shows like “Life Mein Ek Baar” give celebrities like her a chance to show their real side.

“Reality shows are a very good way to express yourself in front of the audience, the way you are. Before this, I just did two dance reality shows because I love dancing. But now I am open to do travel shows as well,” she told IANS.
