Swara Bhaskar to appear in web series

IANS, 23 Aug, 2016 01:34 PM
Actress Swara Bhaskar is joining the web series bandwagon with "It's That Simple" -- an entertainer revolving around the idea of marriage, relationships, a woman's stand in a marriage, love and more. She is excited about stepping into the "circus ring".

Best known for her roles in films like “Raanjhanaa”, “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” and “Nil Battey Sannata”, Swara 's new six-episode series is directed by Danish Aslam. It will be aired on Voot.

“Media is changing rapidly as are viewers' habits of content consumption. The digital space is really the new 'circus ring' so to speak, where all the new and innovative action is taking place. I wanted to explore this medium as well.

“It is a new platform for me to reach my audience. It's also where new and interesting content is being created,” Swara said in a statement.

In the web series, Swara will be seen alongside Vivan Bhatena, Akshay Oberoi and Karanveer Mehra.

Talking about the show, she said: “'It's Not That Simple' is a wonderful and fresh concept. It's daring and yet intimate, pushing the boundaries and yet relatable and real. I play a character that I've never played before. Audiences will see me in a never-seen-before sort of avatar.”
