When Abhishek Made Jackie Shroff Feel Like A Star

Darpan News Desk IANS, 25 Apr, 2016 12:11 PM
Veteran actor Jackie Shroff has shared that he felt like a star when Abhishek Bachchan, now an actor, asked for his autograph back in the 1980s.

"I was shooting for 'Mera Jawab' (released in 1985) in Chennai when two kids came to take my autograph. It was Abhishek and his sister Shweta. I was in a hotel room and Bachchan saab (Amitabh Bachchan) was also staying there.

"He sent them to take my autograph. Someone informed me that Amitabh Bachchan's kids wanted to meet me... wanted my autograph. I felt like a star," Jackie told reporters at the trailer launch of his upcoming film "Housefull 3" here.

Abhishek, who also features in the film, added that Jackie was the "first person whose autograph I have taken in my life". "I was so excited. I was a big fan of his style. I used to wear a bandana on my forehead. Though I did not have a beard then, but I used to pick up drum sticks and act as if I was playing the flute to copy his style."

Jackie shared that Abhishek is a "great kid and focuses on his work only".

"Housefull 3" also features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon.

The romantic-comedy film is set to release on June 3.
