"Downton Abbey" actor Dan Stevens has joined the cast of upcoming drama fantasy film “Colossal”.

Stevens will play a lead character alongside Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, reports variety.com.

The story follows Gloria (Hathaway) who, after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, moves back to her hometown. There, she eventually discovers that she is somehow strangely connected to a giant creature that is terrorising Seoul and is wreaking havoc in the city.

Stevens will play the former boyfriend who originally scorns her only to later fight to win her back.

"Colossal" is currently in production in Vancouver. Directed by Nacho Vigalondo, the film is expected to release in 2016.
