Indo-Canadian actress Agam Darshi's directorial debut Donkeyhead is getting great reviews. Darshi's performance has been compared to Hollywood actress Ann Hathaway in Rachel Getting Married. Darshi has written, acted in, and directed the film Donkeyhead. The movie was released in the US earlier this year on Netflix. It will be released on Amazon Prime in Canada in the Fall.
Touted as the "Maha-Mahabharat" of modern times, "Brothers" is a high octane melodramatic action film from the stable of Dharma Productions which uses the fighting ring as the Kurukshetra.
Overall, though the resolution is a bit implausible, the tale in its context is convincing and the film leaves you enthralled long after you have left the theatre.
An Indo-French co-production, "Masaan" is a poignant tale of two young couples, whose lives are intertwined by fate. It keeps you riveted emotionally and haunts you long after you leave the theatre.
While the film has a feel good factor, the story and its visuals are heavily inspired by Hollywood historicals. Watch the film for being an Indian version of a grandeur film.
