  • Aditi Gupta’s The Palace Court: Where Royalty Meets Modern Elegance

Designer Aditi Gupta’s latest collection—The Palace Court—redefines regal elegance by flawlessly blending Indian heritage with Persian artistry and contemporary sophistication.

When regal heritage meets contemporary aesthetics, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.

Known for dressing celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Genelia D’Souza, Geena Singh, Kusha Kapila, Aamna Sharif, and Gauahar Khan, Aditi’s aesthetically designed creations not only pay homage to India’s rich art and architectural heritage but also cater to the sensibilities of the modern-day woman.

Label Aditi Gupta’s latest collection, The Palace Court, is no exception. A tribute to India’s regal past infused with contemporary elegance, the collection beautifully embodies the couturier’s signature style. “The Palace Court collection draws inspiration from the timeless elegance of India’s iconic Maharanis and the opulence of Persian artistry, seamlessly blended with Victorian influences,” shares Aditi. She adds, “Growing up in the royal city of Gwalior, surrounded by the beauty of Indian textiles and heritage, played a pivotal role in shaping this collection. It celebrates the grandeur and charm of a bygone era while reimagining it for the modern woman.”

Gwalior is not just the inspiration for The Palace Court collection, but it has also been instrumental in shaping Aditi Gupta’s journey. Inspired by her mother’s sarees, this place also nurtured her fascination for India’s rich heritage and textiles, eventually leading her to establish her eponymous label after earning her business degree. “I focus on handcrafted couture and luxury prêt and collaborating with artisans from across India to preserve and celebrate traditional craftsmanship. Each piece from Label Aditi Gupta reflects our commitment to sustainability, heritage, empowering artisans, and creating timeless ensembles that resonate with modern women,” says the designer passionately.

The Palace Court collection reflects everything that the Label Aditi Gupta strives for. “The core theme of The Palace Court is ‘The Story of Yesterday,’ which pays homage to the rich legacy of Indian craftsmanship and Persian artistry. It revives the grandeur of royal court fashion through intricate zari and zardozi embroidery, iconic paisley motifs, and luminous fabrics, creating an intersection of history, elegance, and modern luxury,” elaborates Aditi.

The collection’s regal color palette enhances its allure. Shades of gold, champagne, and ivory meet jewel tones of emerald green, ruby red, and sapphire blue, evoking a sense of splendor. Aditi explains, “These hues enhance the luxurious feel of the garments, reflecting the richness of royal traditions and adding to the collection’s timeless, opulent aesthetic.”

At the heart of The Palace Court collection lies the couturier’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. Aditi shares, “The collection celebrates Indian craftsmanship with intricate zari and zardozi embroidery and paisley motifs inspired by Persian artistry. These traditional techniques are meticulously executed by skilled artisans, ensuring each garment tells a story of dedication and precision. The collection is distinguished by intricate paisley motifs, luminous tissue and Banarasi fabrics, and handcrafted embellishments, including elaborate zardozi work. Signature elements like pearl latkans and delicate laces lend a distinctive charm, ensuring each piece is timeless and luxurious.”

The collection’s silhouettes are as compelling as its detailing. The collection showcases paneled lehengas, anarkalis, crushed tissue skirts paired with jacket anarkalis, sharara sets with long jackets, and elegant dupattas. Effortlessly blending Persian, Victorian, and Indian influences, these designs are a perfect balance of versatility and timeless sophistication.

Undoubtedly, this fusion sets the collection apart. “The USP of The Palace Court collection lies in its seamless fusion of Persian and Victorian artistry with Indian craftsmanship. Highlights include jharokha-inspired skirts, luminous tissue, and Banarasi fabrics, and reimagined paisley motifs. The signature dupatta drapes further enhance the collection’s exclusivity, celebrating history, artistry, and modern sophistication,” informs Aditi.

While The Palace Court predominantly caters to women, this season also sees the launch of a menswear line by Label Aditi Gupta. “This season, we are excited to introduce our newly launched menswear line, which brings the grandeur of royal traditions into modern menswear. With intricately detailed jacket sets featuring regal bandhgalas and belts, draped elements, and refined kurtas, the collection celebrates Indian artistry while embracing contemporary sensibilities. Each piece, whether for men or women, is thoughtfully crafted to embody elegance, ensuring the wearer feels both -regal and modern. This collection is a celebration of history, reimagined for today,” reflects Aditi.

Priced between INR 39,000 and INR 1,35,000, each piece from the collection is meticulously designed, blending elegance and exclusivity while allowing for customization to suit individual preferences. Ensembles from The Palace Court are available on Aditi Gupta’s official website, Instagram page, flagship store at The Dhan Mill in Delhi, and multi-designer platforms like Carma, Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, and Aza. Select designs are also showcased at exhibitions, offering personalized consultations for bespoke shopping experiences.
