  • Emirates Announces Special Limited-Time Fare Sale in Canada

Emirates today announced a special fare sale for travellers from Western Canada in celebration of its codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines that recently received government approval.  Residents of Western Canada can now connect seamlessly from the west coast to worldwide destinations via Seattle.

For a limited time, Canadians can travel to destinations in the Middle East, Indian Sub-Continent, and Africa and enjoy special offers on economy class fares from five west coast cities via an easy connection with Alaska Airlines. Roundtrip, all inclusive economy class fares from Vancouver (YVR), Victoria (YYJ), Kelowna (YLW), Calgary (YYC) and Edmonton (YEG) via Seattle (SEA) with Emirates and Alaska Airlines start from $1199.

Destinations included in this special fare sale are:

  • Dubai(DXB) from $1199
  • Karachi(KHI) from $1369
  • Colombo(CMB) from $1459
  • Dhaka (DAC) from $1419
  • Tehran(IKA) from $1379
  • Nairobi(NBO) from $1379
  • Johannesburg(JNB) from $1379

Bookings must be made between January 21st and January 24th, and travel must be completed on or before November 30, 2016.

“We're pleased that our partnership and codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines extends a range of travel options to our customers in British Columbia and Alberta,” said Rob Gurney, Emirates’ Senior Vice President North America. “Emirates and Alaska Airlines customers living in or near Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Calgary, and Edmonton can now enjoy a more seamless travel experience from these cities, via Seattle, and onwards to destinations in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and the Far East."

First announced in late October, Emirates’ codeshare agreement with Alaska Airlines gives Canadian travellers the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights on both airlines using one reservation, and a seamless ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage check experience during the entire journey. Passengers from Western Canada can purchase a single ticket on emirates.com/ca for their entire journey and passengers will also enjoy Emirate’s generous baggage allowance on all Alaska Airlines routes as well.

Greater Connection Choice Across the Combined Network

The enhanced codeshare agreement gives passengers easy connections from 49 cities in North America, including five in Canada - Vancouver (YVR), Edmonton (YEG), Calgary (YYC), Victoria (YYJ), and Kelowna (YLW) to two daily Emirates’ flights departing from Seattle to Dubai and beyond.  At Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, Alaska Airlines operates from Concourses C, D, and N, with an easy tram ride to the Emirates gates at the South Satellite to ensure a quick connection between flights.
