  • Park City Utah gearing up for 2016/2017 winter season
Park City, Utah, is preparing for the 2016-2017 snow season with Park City Mountain Resort set to open November 18 and Deer Valley Resort following suit on December 3. Complete with first-rate skiing, award-winning dining and accommodations, and recent multimillion-dollar upgrades, these two world-class resorts will open for what's sure to be another unforgettable season.

Fresh off the heels of last year's historic season - where Park City Mountain Resort joined forces with neighbouring Canyon Resort to become the largest ski retreat in the U.S. - the $50 million dollar updated area now boasts 7,300 acres, 300-plus trails, 41 lifts, eight terrain parks, six natural half pipes, one super pipe and one mini pipe. Park City offers so much more than its award-winning slopes. Non-skiers can opt to soak in the stardom of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, take their pick from more than two dozen restaurants headed by acclaimed chefs, or partake in a snowshoe excursion up to the sparkling blue hot spring of a 10,000 year old crater, topped off with an hour of relaxing paddleboard yoga.

Just a short 10-minute drive from the town centre, Deer Valley Resort - which revolutionized the industry by being the first North American ski resort to provide first-class service on par with a five-star hotel - is undergoing some major upgrades of its own. The exclusive resort has invested $7.5 million in improvements for the 2016-2017 season, which include snowmaking enhancements, updating the entire Cadillac vehicle fleet, purchasing 21 new snowmobiles, and more. Celebrated as a leading luxury ski destination, Canadian travellers can expect deluxe amenities, including ski valets, complimentary tours from mountain hosts, groomed-to-perfection slopes and gourmet dining in three elegant day lodges.

It's never been easier to get to Park City, Utah, with both Air Canada and Delta Airlines providing nonstop flights to Salt Lake City out of several major Canadian hubs including Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. Park City Mountain Resort is open from 9am-4pm daily between November 18, 2016 and April 16, 2017, and Deer Valley Resort is open from 9am-4pm daily between December 3, 2016 and April 16, 2017. Honey-I-can’t-believe-we-just-did-that-moon – beach, sun, sand and a fancy cocktail in hand – sounds nice right? Sure, for some of us that’s all we want in a honeymoon, but sometimes it’s good to spice things up a bit, especially when it comes to marriage
