Q1: How did you two meet, and what was your first impression of each other?

A: We both met in grade 8. During high school, we did not really get a chance to get to know one another. However, in 2021, when we reconnected:

Anjalie: I thought Justin was a very sweet and charismatic person who showed me he was a gentleman.

Justin: I thought Anjalie was very kind and friendly. I could tell that she was very selfless and put others’ needs ahead of her own.

Q2: Can you share the story of your proposal/engagement?

A: Our proposal was an intimate surprise where Justin had set up a backdrop, surprise photography, and close friends and family present.

Anjalie: My sister asked me to get ready for a gala for her work. I had no idea I was getting ready for my engagement. It was a complete surprise, seeing him standing in a gazebo in a tuxedo.

Q3: Describe your wedding day for us. Did you have a favorite part of the wedding?

Anjalie: Our wedding day was very calm and serene for me. My favorite part was the quiet moments in the morning with my family and getting to soak in the moment. Any small amount of nervousness escaped me when I got to see Justin inside the Gurdwara. After seeing him, the day just felt perfect.

Justin: The wedding day was quite calm and smooth due to the assistance of our families, friends, and day-of coordinators, which alleviated the stress off me and Anjalie. My favorite part of the wedding day was the Anand Karaj itself, as I was finally able to call Anjalie my wife after being together for 4 and a half years.

Q4: How did you choose your wedding attire for both of you?

Anjalie: I went shopping with my mom randomly one day, not expecting to find anything that I really liked. I knew I wanted to go for a regal/traditional look but was open to different colors/tones. The lehenga I purchased was the first I tried on and fell in love immediately. To tie the look in with the theme I was going for, a traditional gold set would pull the look together. My wedding outfit was from Surrey Bridal, complemented by stunning jewelry from Sunaar Jewelers.

Justin: My plan was to shop around a few stores and try on outfits until I found what I liked, and that also complemented Anjalie’s outfit with a regal touch. The first store that my family and I went to was Frontier Bridal in Surrey. I ended up trying on 5-6 outfits, and the one that I tried on last was THE ONE, and the order was placed!

Q5: Where did you honeymoon?

A: We are planning to honeymoon early next year, and we are thinking of a tropical destination. We were unfortunately unable to align work schedules immediately after the wedding.

Q6: Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?

A: Not a thing! Both of us agree, all our vendors were incredible and executed our vision without any hiccup. There is nothing we would change about our week!

Q7: What do you love the most about one another?

Anjalie: I love Justin’s caring and warm personality. He allows me to be myself and always encourages me to pursue my goals and dreams and is always in my corner cheering me on.

Justin: I love how Anjalie is my number one fan. She helps me through hardships, and she celebrates my successes like they are her own. She allows me to be and doesn’t try to fit me into a mold that isn’t me.

Q8: How does it feel to be married, and what are you most looking forward to in this new chapter together?

A: We’re both looking forward to getting to spend time with one another and create new memories while traveling, discovering new hobbies, and navigating life together.

Q9: If you could give one piece of advice to couples planning their wedding, what would it be?

A: Our advice to couples is to ensure both parties’ views, perspectives, and opinions are openly discussed. The wedding planning process can be very daunting; however, making sure to research reliable vendors and asking for help from friends/family members will alleviate a lot of the stress.
