Wedding Story: Bavan & Parm

Darpan News Desk, 31 Jan, 2019

“You are the source of my joy, the centre of my world and the whole of my heart.”

    Q: How did you meet?

Bavan: We met through my cousin who was friends with Parm’s cousin. They both decided to introduce us because they thought we would be a great match. At first, it felt a little strange because I didn’t know much about him but once we started talking, it felt as if we had known each other for years. Once we met, we just clicked!

Q: What do you love most about one another?

Bavan: I love how he cares about me and he always has my back no matter what. He is very family-oriented and he connects very well with my family as well. He has a very friendly personality and a great sense of humour. There’s never a dull moment with him.

Parm: She is everything I ever wanted. We have a special connection, where she knows everything without me even saying anything. I can always count on her and she supports and encourages me more than anybody. I feel lucky to have such an amazing wife and I look forward to this new chapter.

Q: Could you share your proposal story?

Parm: It wasn’t really a proposal as our wedding date was already set. But it was a surprise for Bavan as I went to her house for dinner and I went down on my knee while she was in her PJs almost ready to go to bed.

Q:  Describe your wedding day. What was your favourite moment?

Our wedding day was beyond perfect! The day we had been planning for over a year had finally arrived. We were afraid that it would be too hot as our wedding was in mid-July but it turned out to be such a beautiful day. Our best moment was when our laavaan were completed and we looked at each other and smiled because we were officially husband and wife.

Q: Could you tell us about your reception?

Our reception was the following day and we were much more relaxed than the wedding day. Since it was the last wedding event, we wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. The DJ kept the party going all night. We both felt so relieved knowing that we don’t have any more wedding stress. It’s a night to remember forever.

Q: Can you describe your outfits?

Bavan: For the wedding day, I custom ordered my lehnga in raspberry colour which was designed by Made in India and Parm’s outfit was in gold and navy blue. This colour combination looked amazing together and looks great in pictures. For the reception, I wore a taupe-coloured lehnga which was ordered from Wellgroomed and Parm wore a classic black suit.

    Q: Where did you honeymoon?

We went to Mexico right after our wedding since both of us had never been there. It was so nice to lay down by the beach and relax after running around and stressing about wedding planning. We both loved it there, especially the food!

Q: What are your goals as a couple?

Our goal as a couple is to prioritize our relationship and have daily connecting time. We also want to travel together and continue to grow our love.

Q: What are the strengths of your marriage?

    Trust, respect and patience.

Q: If you could provide any advice to other married couples, what would it be?

Time is very valuable so make sure you spend it with your loved ones. Make time together a priority.
