The Delhi High Court on Friday adjourned hearing on a plea filed by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging the trial court’s decision to take cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s prosecution complaint in the alleged liquor policy scam. A bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri decided to defer the proceedings after an adjournment was sought on the ED's behalf due to the non-availability of Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju.
The Delhi BJP has received 1.04 lakh suggestions from citizens for its manifesto for the upcoming Assembly elections, said Convener of the party’s Election 2025 Manifesto Committee, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Friday. The enthusiastic response of the people is evident from the fact that people are fed up with the Kejriwal government, said Bidhuri.
The CBI had investigated the matter of the illegal detention of Sumedh Gulati from the lawful custody of Police Station Phase-I, Mohali, by Cheema, Ajay Chaudhary and four others in 2014. The Special CBI Judge in Mohali sentenced the six accused to imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 39,000 on them.
Delhi-NCR woke up to a thick blanket of smog on Wednesday as air quality remained in the ‘severe’ category for the third consecutive day as the cold gripped the region. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 442 at 7:15 A.M., with several areas in the national Capital registering levels between 400 and 500.
