AAP's Bhagwant Mann Booked For Alleged Misbehaviour with Mediapersons

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Sep, 2016 02:38 PM
AAP lawmaker Bhagwant Mann was today booked for allegedly misbehaving with mediapersons at a rally in Fatehgarh Sahib.

Targeting the print media, the Sangrur MP had yesterday asked volunteers not to read newspapers, alleging influence of money in publication of news.

"After receiving the report of the Deputy Superintendent of Police to whom an inquiry had been marked and after getting legal opinion in this regard, we registered a case against Mr Bhagwant Mann and some of his party activists," Fatehgarh Sahib's Senior Superintendent of Police HS Bhullar said.

A police case was registered on the statement of journalist Ranjodh Singh and other mediapersons against Mr Mann under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The mediapersons had yesterday filed a complaint against Mr Mann who along with his supporters allegedly misbehaved with them and used derogatory remarks against the media at a political rally in Bassi Pathana on Thursday.

Mr Mann has been mired in controversies. The AAP MP recently drew flak for alleged security breach after he streamed a video of him entering the Parliament Complex in Delhi. The Lok Sabha Speaker had formed a panel to probe the issue and Mann was asked to stay away from proceedings of the house, pending the inquiry.
