Akali Dal constitutes 15-member manifesto committee for Lok Sabha polls

Chandigarh, April 3 (IANS) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Wednesday announced the formation of a 15-member manifesto committee for the Lok Sabha polls in Punjab for 13 seats slated on June 1.

He said the committee has 15 members and, in addition, six members have been added as special invitees, he added.
Known for his path-breaking work on Pahari paintings, internationally-acclaimed art historian and an authority on miniature painting, Chandigarh-based Brijinder Nath Goswamy, passed away on Friday following prolonged ill health. Recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards, 90-year-old Goswamy, fondly called BNG in art circles had authored more than 26 books.

According to CBI sources, the agency has summoned at least 10 railway employees at its headquarters in the national capital for questioning from November 21-25. The employees who have been summoned are currently posted in Barauni and Sonpur division of the railways in Bihar.
