A man has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly slapping his 4-year-old son repeatedly, the police said on Monday.
Azruddin Qutybuddin Shaikh, 30, was arrested after a video of him slapping his son went viral, Senior Inspector Deepak Pagare said.
"The man said he hit the child as he was constantly crying. The video was shot by his wife," he added.
Police said that the man has been charged under the Juvenile Justice Act but was released on bail.

"Sidhu told me he had already committed himself to going. When I informed him of the stand I had taken on the issue, he said it was his personal visit but he would get back to me. But I did not hear from him," Mr Singh said.
The accused, who gave his name as Derrick Joe, came into contact with the woman who had just started her own business dealing with international clients, a police official said.
According to her, the Narendra Modi government had given priority to national interests in its foreign policy.
Virali Modi, 27, narrated her ordeal on Twitter and said the incident happened on Monday, when she reached the airport to catch a flight to London.
The man, identified as Gulshan Kashyap, a resident of Gurgaon in Haryana, was arrested near the Sab Mall in Sector 27 after raids were conducted to find him, they said.
