Winner of #SareeTwitter Trend? Video Of Woman Kissing Cricketer From 1975 Goes Viral

Darpan News Desk IANS, 19 Jul, 2019 09:15 PM

The latest trend ‘SareeTwitter’ has dug out an old 15-second video clip of a woman sprinting towards the pitch to kiss the then 22-year-old batsman Brijesh Patel during the India-West Indies Test in 1975.

The woman, wearing a black saree, dodged all the police personnel and went to plant a kiss on Patel, and then went away, smiling.

The famous kiss had made headlines during the 1975 Test series between India and West Indies

The video got everyone talking online and many agreed it was the highlight of the #SareeTwitter trend. Others had funny observations about the commentary and her speed too:

A Twitter user posted the video with #SareeTwitter and mentioned that it can’t be beaten.

The user captioned the video and wrote: “Sorry this #SareeTwitter cannot be beaten.” Replying to the video, a Twitter user wrote: “She definitely wasn’t saree about what she did.”

As far as Patel is concerned, he played quite a few games, donning the national colours. He made his international debut in a Test match versus England in Manchester where he could only manage eight runs.
