IANS, 15 Nov, 2017 12:54 PM
A young woman was gang-raped by five men in Indore in Madhya Pradesh but she refused to file a complaint, police said on Wednesday.

Police sources said five young men called the woman on the pretext of lending her money on Tuesday night, took her in a car and gang-raped her in Chhatripur area before dumping her on the roadside.

"Police questioned the woman and asked her to file a complaint against the culprits. However, she was not ready for it. She threatened to commit suicide if a case was registered. So, she was sent home," Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Harinarayan Chari Mishra told IANS.

The sources said that the woman was taken to M.Y. Hospital, where she was treated. She told police about the crime but did not file a complaint.

Mishra said police would act if the woman decided to file the complaint.
