  • Indian Labourer Jailed For Molesting Woman In Dubai
An Indian labourer in Dubai has been jailed for three months for molesting a woman in Deira city three months ago, a media report said.

The 27-year-old man was accused of groping a 35-year-old woman from Philippines in an inebriated state.

The court in Dubai slapped a fine of $545 on the molester for consuming alcohol without a licence. The court also ordered the man to be deported, Khaleej Times reported on Friday.

According to the complainant, the incident took place on May 29.

"It happened near the loading area. He was standing by the lift," the complainant was quoted as saying.

She claimed that the man groped her intentionally when she was about to enter the lift. Immediately after the incident the woman walked out while he stayed in the lift.

Meanwhile, the accused tried to flee but was caught and handed over to police.

The accused, while questioning, admitted that he had consumed alcohol but claimed that he did not touch the woman intentionally.

He may appeal to the verdict within 15 days.
